Flynn was running low on his Weasley Wizarding Wheezes products, a problem he seemed to often have as of late. He couldn't help himself; whenever he saw a new and exciting product advertised in their catalog he just had to have it. His father, who was a Muggle, hadn't understood at first, but then Flynn had brought him to the flagship store in Diagon Alley this past summer and had shown him all the Muggle magic tricks they had as well, and he had been delighted. His father was usually very passive when it came to magic, preferring to do some shopping around London while Flynn got his supplies for the upcoming school year, so it had been a nice bonding moment between the two of them to experience Diagon together again.
Knowing that the Owlery would be empty early in the morning, Flynn woke early and crept out of the common room. It was not against school rules to purchase or use certain WWW products, but he knew of the caretakers' disdain of the shop; an inherited prejudice rumors were told of a previous caretaker and his vendetta against the Weasley twins themselves. He wound his way up the many staircases, catching his breath just before the owlery entrance. It was certainly a workout, climbing up eight flights of stairs, but it certainly woke him up. He made his way up the winding staircase to the large circular room that was filled with hooting owls. He whistled, and a gray owl fluttered down onto his shoulder and stuck out his leg. "Take this to the Weasley Wizarding Wheezes shop in Hogsmeade okay Ed?" he asked, petting his owl with two of his fingers lightly. Ed nipped him in affection, and took off out the open window. Flynn leaned against the sill and watched Ed until he was out of sight, then turned to face the door. The problem was, someone else was already there blocking it.
