It had been one month since Aurora had made her now famous prophecy, and every day since she regretted opening her mouth and blabbing to the former Headmistress. She felt partially responsible for her death, even though it was not even remotely her own fault; she had just Seen it and informed her to be prepared. She supposed she had been silly to think she could change the future, since things that are meant to happen always seem to come true eventually.
The students interactions with her didn't help either. Aurora was a shy girl who never let anything get to her , but the stares and whispers were nagging at her psyche. She understood why people were talking; the prophecy she had foretold was incredibly dark and frightening; indeed, she was scared herself. She wished they would just leave her alone.
Feeling the need to get out of her thoughts, she rose early one summer morning and crept out of the Ravenclaw tower, a towel tucked underneath her arm. Taking shortcuts as to not run into anyone, she made her way out of the castle and down to the lake. She paused at the shoreline, letting the cold water lap over her bare feet as she breathed in the morning air. Looking around and seeing nobody, she stripped to her swimsuit and rushed into the water, muffling her shriek underwater from the cold stabbing at her body. After a few lengths, the water became pleasant and cool, and she broke the surface, spitting out a stream of water as she pushed her blonde hair back. Floating for a minute, she turned her head when she suddenly heard something rustling in the nearby bushes. "Who is there?" she called, trying not to sound nervous.
